Being a team player is vital to get through life successfully. This doesn't just apply to being on an athletic team. This applies to working in a group whether your organization is large or small. Most everyone is around others on a daily basis where we have to navigate through varying personalities and challenges. As the mother of two young athletes, I am constantly telling them that having good sportsmanship is just as important as having high athletic ability in your sport. We are trying to teach them to lose with dignity and win with dignity. In my professional life, I work at a high school with every type of person imaginable. It hasn't been easy to adapt some personalities in our office but as a team player, I know it's not worth getting into arguments or fights just because we have different views. I want to serve our students, parents and community with the highest level of service so this means it's important to act as a team in all situations.
